Rory McIlroy Wins 2025 Pebble Beach Pro-Am
Pebble Beach, CA – Rory McIlroy (-21) won the 2025 AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am, finishing two strokes ahead of fellow Irishman Shane Lowry. He entered the final round one stroke behind Sepp Straka, tied with Lowry. He fired a final round 66 to claim his first career victory at Pebble Beach and 27th overall on the PGA Tour.
McIlroy overpowered the golf course and the field, showing how much of a weapon his driver is and also that he is nearly unbeatable when he puts everything together. With the Masters Tournament starting to come into focus, all eyes will be on Rory to see how his game trends in the coming weeks and months. Justin Rose and Lucas Glover finished T3 at -18. Straka shot a disappointing final round 72 to drop down to a T7 finish alongside Tom Kim at -16.
After a fairly lackluster start to the PGA Tour season, golf fans were treated to an exciting event that checked all the boxes: A great golf course in challenging conditions, a field featuring several of the world’s best, and arguably the best player of his generation in it until the very end. Plus no football to compete with for TV viewership.
Pebble is one of the older golf courses on the PGA Tour and has the smallest greens on tour, on average. Pair that with exposed green sites and coastal winds gusting up to 30 mph and you have a recipe for challenging and exciting golf, a true test for the world’s best.
Other players who had notable performances included world number one Scottie Scheffler (T9, -15) who was making his season debut after recovering from a freak kitchen accident which left him needing stitches on his palm; Cam Davis finished T5 at -17 alongside Russell Henley, after a remarkable up and down from the tree roots on 18.
A no cut signature event, not all of the notables in the field performed well. Ludvig Aberg withdrew with illness after firing a 77 in the first round; last year’s champion and course record holder Wyndham Clark finished T68 at even par; and one-time Pebble specialist Jordan Spieth struggled, finishing T74 at +3.
Next week, the PGA Tour heads to the desert for the WM Phoenix Open. Nick Taylor memorably won last year’s edition in a playoff. He will defend his title against a field that includes players such as Tom Kim, Hideki Matsuyama, Scottie Scheffler, and Justin Thomas.
